Life at a gentler pace

Just 12 miles from the centre of Bristol, Rangeworthy is a world away from the crowds and clutter of city life. Surrounded by rolling hills and working farmland, it’s a peaceful retreat in the Severn Vale, on the Cotswolds’ western edge.

Local shopping & retail therapy

For everyday essentials, Yate is a bustling local shopping centre with over 100 stores, including all the high street names and major supermarkets. There’s a village shop in Tytherington, and several fantastic farm shops nearby, as well as Dobbie’s and Iron Action garden centres. For boutiques and chic, Chipping Sodbury’s historic streets are home to a wonderful choice of independent retailers, artisan cafes and centuries-old inns.

Of course, Bristol offers the best city centre shopping in the South West, including Cabot Circus and The Galleries, Broadmead, Quakers Friars and The Arcade. You’ll find flagship department stores, fashionista favourites and stylish designer names here, and a little further afield in Bath.

Cribbs Causeway, just 20 minutes away, is home to over 150 shops at The Mall and The Retail Park, along with restaurants, leisure and entertainment.

Things to see & do

South Gloucestershire is home to honey-stone villages, rolling hills, countless country walks and picture-perfect market towns.

Despite its size, Rangeworthy boasts a huge sense of community, with a local school, pub, church, and a village hall that’s a hub for events and activities.

The Cotswold Way passes close by, stretching across glorious countryside from Bath to Chipping Camden. There’s the National Arboretum at Westonbirt, one of the most beautiful and important plant collections in the world. You can explore local history at spectacular Dyrham Park and gardens, Kingswood Heritage Museum or Acton Court, a Tudor  mansion a few minutes from Rangeworthy.

Wander through winding streets to browse the shops in thriving market towns like Chipping Sodbury, Marshfield or Thornbury. The Roman city of Bath is a spectacular day out, while Bristol always beckons with its vibrant arts scene, bars and restaurants, world-class museums, theatres, sports and music venues, as well as unique family attractions like The Wave inland surfing lake, Bristol Zoo’s Wild Place Project and Aerospace Bristol Museum.

Local education

Rangeworthy CE Primary School is a small, friendly village school less than a five-minute walk from home. Iron Acton CEVC Primary School is about five minutes’ drive, while nearby Yate is home to Tyndale Primary School and The Ridge. Tytherington Pre-school welcomes children from 2-5 years old.

Local secondary schools include the highly regarded Yate Academy and Brimsham Green School in Yate, as well as Chipping Sodbury School. Both Bristol and Bath offer a range of independent options including Clifton College, Bristol Grammar School and the  Royal High School.

Bristol is home to the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, with the University of Bath also close by. Further education options include City of Bristol College and South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

Transport links

Rangeworthy is ideally located for Bristol and the surrounding area, with easy access to the M4, M5 and M32. Count on a 30 to 40-minute commute into the city by car, and about the same to Bath.

Your nearest train station is Yate, less than 10 minutes away, with a regular service into Bristol Temple Meads taking just over 20 minutes. In the other direction, Birmingham is under two hours’ travel, and London Paddington as little as 1 hour 45 minutes.

And if you’re flying out, Bristol Airport is less than an hour away, and Heathrow just under a two-hour drive.

  1. National Custom and Self Build Association and the Federation of Master Builders, 2020.
  2. Homes are classified as Net Zero for regulated energy performance including heating, hot water and lighting only, based on average energy use per person in the household. Does not include unregulated energy use for home appliances, devices, electric vehicles, etc.
  3. Designs shown are representative of the interior configurations possible at Rangeworthy. All options subject to terms and conditions. Speak to your sales advisor for more information.
  4. Requirements, terms and conditions apply to Stamp Duty Land Tax reductions and Community Infrastructure Levy exemptions. See brochure and speak to your sales advisor for further information.
  5. EPC Rated A “very energy efficient – lower running costs and “very environmentally friendly – lower CO2 emissions”. This is a predicted energy and environmental assessment for a property not yet completed and includes a predicted energy rating which may not represent the final energy rating of the property on completion. EPC ratings are based on the government Standard Assessment Programme (SAP) software baseline assumptions for an average household, so actual usage may vary depending on household size and energy use. Costs are based on the SAP measurement for ‘regulated energy’ only. Regulated energy is building energy consumption resulting from the specification of controlled, fixed building services and fittings, including space heating and cooling, hot water, ventilation, fans, pumps and lighting. Such energy uses are inherent in the design of a building. Cost will vary based on additional energy use and individual circumstances.
  6. Electricity Use represents the net balance of electricity purchased from a provider and surplus electricity generated at the property and exported back to the provider. A negative value signifies that the home is a net exporter of electricity.
  7. Energy cost comparison has been made for any new Custom Collection home at Rangeworthy with 9-kilowatt(kW) of photovoltaic solar panels installed. Annual total energy cost does not include electric vehicle charging. Calculations are based on a typical 4-bedroom home of approx. 2700ft2. Victorian and typical New Build Home comparisons based on British Gas Cap Tracker rates for gas and electricity, and the British Gas Smart Export Guarantee rate for electricity, accurate in October 2025. All costs inclusive of VAT where applicable.
