Autograph Homes has acquired a new 4.5-acre site on the edge of Rode, one of North Somerset’s most picturesque and sought-after villages. The substantial site, previously a farm, is opposite the historic St Lawrence’s Church, and commands outstanding views across the Somerset countryside to the Mendip hills.
As with Autograph’s two previous developments, the UK’s Housing Growth Partnership is an initial investor, reflecting the success of the impact investment organisation’s partnership with business.
Mid-way between the market towns of Frome and Trowbridge, and 11.6 miles south of Bath, Rode has been a thriving village since the time of Domesday Book. Today, its mixture of picture postcard cottages and elegant merchants’ homes makes it one of the most attractive locations in the county.
Work at the site is expected to begin later this year.
