Last year, five year-old Cayla was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. Over the past 12 months she’s undergone a gruelling treatment programme here in the UK which is due to finish in September.
A pioneering vaccine is available in the United States, and our Sales Advisor, Vanessa Randall-Short, is determined to help raise the funds needed to send Cayla to New York for further treatment that could reduce the chance of her cancer returning in the future.
And that meant a close shave.
Vanessa says, “My involvement came from donating some bits and pieces for a jumble sale in Cayla’s aid. When I heard Cayla’s story, I just couldn’t walk away. I’m not fit enough to climb a mountain or run a marathon, so I chose to raise money by having my head shaved instead!”
Vanessa’s commitment to brave the shave has now raised more than £1,500 to help fund Cayla treatment.
